I ate this traditional dish several times in Suva, Fiji. The first occasion was in the dining room of the old Grand Pacific Hotel, prior to remodeling. It was then still a first cousin to the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and the Oriental in Bangkok, in architecture and atmosphere, if no longer in class.
