Chestnut Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 2 qts. chestnuts
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup minced onion
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

Method

Cook chestnuts in boiling water for 20 minutes, remove the shell and brown skin while hot, and grate. Melt the butter and cook the onion, parsley and celery. Add chestnuts and seasoning. Mix well and stuff the bird.
