Filling

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs. dry bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 ½ lbs. white raisins
  • 3 cups sugar
  • ¾ lb. butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ lb. chopped almonds
  • cream to moisten

Method

Sift the dry bread crumbs. Puff raisins in hot water and drain. Mix bread crumbs, raisins, butter, sugar and cream and cook over a low fire. Add salt and flavoring. Cool thoroughly.
