Several recipes in the book come from Variety stalwart Stuart Wagstaff. The ever-charming English-born stage actor came to Australia in the 1950s and built a career in theatre and television. In 1998, Wagstaff was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to the community, including his philanthropic work with Variety. He died in 2015, aged 90.
