  • About

This recipe comes from Leicestershire, with the unlikely story that it was picked up on the battlefield of Bosworth where King Richard Ill’s cook dropped it. They are, however, delicious little cookies.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup ( sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • cups sugar

Method

Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then add the flour and mix to a stiff consistency.

Shape the dough into small “S” forms and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25 minutes
