Making your own sauce from scratch can quickly jazz up a boring night of pasta for dinner. This basic tomato sauce can be made in less than 30 minutes, and you’ll have fresh homemade sauce by the time you’re done boiling the pasta. This sauce also works great in pizza and lasagna.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Method

In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
