Mulligatawny Soup

A lentil soup that has been adopted into Parsi cooking.

Traditionally, most Parsi homes have 3 favourite soups: Tamato, or tomato soup; Badam, almond soup; and Mulligatawny, a lentil soup originating from South Indian cuisine. Growing up in Karachi, soups only indicated the dreaded ‘cold’, or being old! But moving to Canada with the really chilly, long winters quickly taught me how soups can be truly soul-warming.
