This recipe of dry maash daal is another family favourite! It’s the perfect accompaniment for dishes with gravy, such as koftay, qorma, etc. It is a quick, simple, and mild daal recipe that is equally loved by my daughter and husband.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Maash Daal
  • ½ tsp Ginger Paste/Powder

Method

Soak daal for half an hour or more.

Cook daal in 2 cups of water with salt, ginger paste and dried whole red chillies.

When the daal is done, dry the remaining water on a high flame.

Fry onions and red chillies, and pour over daal as baghar.
