Kheer is a traditional Pakistani dessert made with milk, rice, and sugar. This recipe belongs to my Nani’s sister, Wajjo Khala, who was undeniably one of the BEST cooks in our family.

Ingredients

  • 2 litres Whole Milk
  • 150 g Rice
  • 250 g

Method

Heat milk in a pot with the crushed cardamoms, mixing continuously until it comes to a boil.

Then add soaked rice and keep mixing until the milk boils again.

Decrease the flame and cook for at least 5 to 6 hours (the milk will reduce and the colour will become slightly pinkish as it cooks).
