I rustled up this recipe for a ‘Swedish meatball cook-off’ that I filmed at a youth hostel. When I presented my entry to the judge, she told me that I had no right to call them Swedish meatballs.

I interjected that her comment was questionable, as here I was in Stockholm wearing an apron, after all. But the judge threw down her fork, turned up her nose and said, ‘Unacceptable: they are too large and you have put dill in the sauce. What would my grandmother say? She would be appalled
