This is the ultimate comfort drink for me. If I want a little pick-me-up or a sweetish drink then this is what I go for .It’s relatively easy and extremely rewarding.


  • 2 centimetre piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 teaspoons


Add the ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves and cardamom to a medium-sized saucepan along with the water. Bring to a simmer and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid, discarding the solids, and add the milk and heat. Serve hot and add honey to taste.
