Ingredients: 345 ml (11⅔ fl oz) double cream; 80 ml (3 fl oz) full-fat milk; 10 g (¼ oz) instant coffee granules; 50 ml (2 fl oz) sweet wine, such as Muscat; 50 ml (2 fl oz) sweet wine, such as Muscat; 100 g (3½ oz) chocolate chips; 120 g (4 oz) butter, softened; 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda; 425 g (15 oz) plain flour; 2 tsp instant coffee; 50 g (1¾ oz) dark brown sugar; 25 g (1 oz) cocoa powder; 5 eggs; 360 g (12½ oz) icing sugar

Method

Preheat the oven to 170°C/325°F/gas mark 3, and grease and line a 21cm x 12cm x 8cm (8in x 4½in x 3¼in) loaf tin with baking parchment.
Pour the cream, milk and coffee into a bowl.
Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda into a separate bowl.<
