I definitely underrated this breakfast soup when I was a kid. In my defense, though, my only encounter with hoolah soup was at school. Every morning, we’d bring in little metal bowls from home and fill those bowls with a scoop of this starchy slop for breakfast. I rarely finished my meal, scrambling to eat as quickly as possible before tossing my bowl into my lunch bag, the metal still dripping with the remnants of the soup.
