You probably don’t need me to say this, but the Lunar New Year is a big deal in China. Most people get a full two weeks off, and families travel from all around the world to see each other. As a kid, this holiday was filled with family members I only saw once a year, endless feasts, and these little guys: sticky, chewy rice dumplings filled with sweet paste, boiled and served in a syrupy soup.

Tangyuan soup is a staple during Lunar New Year because its roundness brings to mind both
