There is an ever-increasing array on the market, and it is seriously confusing. The sizes and names vary and, therefore, will alter how many you can make in a batch and their cooking times. The instructions I have given worked for me and are approximate. As a general rule, the very small cases are called ‘petit four’ or ‘sweet’ cases. The next size up are often called ‘bun’ or ‘fairy cake’ cases, then the larger ‘cupcake’ and, even deeper, the largest ‘muffin’.
