She, smiling, petite, until the release of that breathtakingly intense voice, which turns her, as if by magic, into a giant. He, serious and discreet, seemingly intent on disguising and hiding his talent. Fans of all that is Portuguese and that reveals their country in a good light, their version of the national anthem can bring any already charged-up audience to tears.
Together in music and in life, Marisa Liz and Tiago Pais Dias make music much more than their work, mixing the two things, because for them one does not make sense without the other. Their band is Amor Electro, a name not born by chance, as Marisa explains: “We wanted a name that defines our sound, a name that gives a vision of what it could be. And I so much wanted to include the word Amor, so strong in several languages and also a definition of how we started. To that we added the Electro of electronics and machines, to give a cooler air to the romantic and sentimental aspects of the words and songs. Like one of those deserts that is warm and cold at the same time.”
