Born in 1994, the Gift began life as a side project of Dead Souls, the band of Nuno Gonçalves and Miguel Ribeiro. From being two, the gift became a gang of four with the addition of Ricardo Braga and of Sonia Tavares as the charismatic lead singer. Offering pop music sung in English but with their own sound and a singer with a very strong, unusual voice, the band has trodden a path of success after success to become indisputedly one of the biggest bands in Portugal and considered by many to be “rock royalty”. Also popular in Spain, in recent years they have also broken into the US, Canada and Australia.
