Owner of a dramatic and expressive voice, Catarina Molder is a Portuguese soprano of Hungarian origin, born in Lisbon.
With extensive performing experience and a repertoire ranging from Mozart to Puccini and from Wagner to Alban Berg, Catarina can move easily to a more lyrical repertoire in the realm of musical theatre and contemporary music. Veteran of a diverse range of innovative musical performances that combine such opposites as opera, cabaret, fado, jazz and more, she aims to bring to the lyrical world a more eclectic way of communicating with new audiences. With a mission to bring opera to everyone, she has dedicated herself to proving that classical music is not the exclusive preserve of the elite. She created, presented and performed in the TV series Super Diva – Opera for Everyone, a programme broadcast in Portugal and garlanded by the Portuguese Society of Authors. She has founded her own opera company, Companhia de Ópera do Castelo, where she is artistic director and soloist, something that acts as a framework for developing original and innovative projects aimed at bringing opera to all audiences. Catarina combines a natural glamour with a personality brimming with charisma.
