A harvest bread developed in western Scotland as part of the Michaelmas harvest festival. The original recipe called for everything from flour to garlic to dandelion (see “The Blessing of the Struan”) but our modern version is a five-grain bread; beautiful to see and delicious to eat. It is the most popular bread we made at Brother Juniper’s Bakery. See And Then There Was Struan
