If you plan on baking, you’ll need these items. Baking sheets with short rims around the edges will keep your baked goods from sliding off. When it comes to baking dishes, it’s always good to have at least one 9 x 13-inch and one 8 x 8-inch for casseroles, lasagnas, brownies, and bars. A 5 x 9-inch loaf pan is good for making banana bread, pound cake, and fudge, and it can even work as a good container for homemade ice cream. Springform pans and tart pans allow you to remove the outer ring of the pan for those times when flipping the pan upside down for removal would destroy what you’ve made, like Savory Corn Cheesecake with Cilantro-Pepita Dressing. A regular 10-inch round cake pan is great for all the other times. A muffin tin is useful for muffins, cupcakes, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.
