Cheese-maker Mary Keehn began raising goats a quarter of a century ago to provide hard-to-find goat’s milk for her children. She soon found herself making fresh goat’s milk cheeses in her kitchen. Her popular small, white disks of Purple Haze are flavored with lavender and fennel pollen, which nicely contrast with the acidic tang of the goat’s milk. For details on Keehn’s famous Humboldt Fog.
