Golden Needles or Tiger-Lily Buds

Dried buds of the tiger-lily flowers which grow in abundance in northern China. Usually about 7.5 cm (3 in) long, they are called golden needles because of their shape and colour. They absorb the flavours of other ingredients that they are cooked with and also provide a subtle lightness of texture.
