  • About

Although it looks similar to other boleti, the elegante, as its name suggests, looks much better than it tastes. It is not one of the most sought-after fungi, but it has its merits, not least its abundance. It can mainly be found from summer through to autumn under larch and pine trees, where the ground is free of brambles and other heavy shrubs. This fungus is always a little moist, whatever the weather conditions, but fully developed specimens should not be picked after rain as they can become waterlogged.
