  • About

Cannoli is probably the best-known Sicilian dessert and gets is name from the fact that it is deep-fried around a piece of cane (canna). It used only to be made for Carnevale (carnival) and for the feast day of San Carlo. Now it is eaten all year round, not only after meals, but also as a snack. The special pastry is filled with a mixture of ricotta, sugar, candied fruits and chocolate.
