  • About

This deep ruby-red wine comes from the Valpantena in Veneto. There are two best-known types, both having as a base the Recioto della Valpolicella (see Valpolicella) made from the Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. One, usually known as Reciota della Valpolicella Amabile, is a very velvety semi-sweet red wine which is quite high in alcohol content because it is made from dried grapes. The other, dry, wine goes very well with roast meat or game and strong cheeses.
