This is one of the most popular DOCG Piedmontese red wines. This status is given only to a few wines in Italy and in this case means that the wine can only come from a small area in the South of Piedmont, near Alba in the towns of Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso. With a minimum alcohol content of 12.5, the wine has a garnet red colour, with orange reflections, and a pleasant and deep scent. The flavour is well balanced, dry and velvety. It goes very well with game and all roasted and grilled red meat. Barbaresco can be called riserva only if it is aged for at least 4 years.
