This very well-known full-bodied Sardinian ruby-red wine comes in two versions, dry or semi-sweet. The cannonau grape may be late harvested or indeed allowed to dry on mats, in this case the alcohol content can rise to produce a wine that is dry or amabile (semi-sweet), which is mainly used as dessert wine. Otherwise, Cannonau is excellent with grilled meat.
