The name of a Piedmontese family who started to produce vermouth wines in 1863. Later on, with the merger of that company with Rossi, they have grown until today they are the best-known producers not only of the well-known red, white and dry vermouth, but also of dry and sweet sparkling wines, aperitifs like China Martini and more. Martini vermouth is the base of various cocktails and drinks worldwide, but it is also widely used in cooking as, for example, in the mushroom dish Finferli al Liquore. The other slightly less famous house sharing the world vermouth market is Cinzano.
