APPEARANCE: Distinguish this vegetable by its 8-10’ long reddish-purple leaf stalks and sparse, trifoliate leaf blades.
QUALITY: Select well-formed leaves which appear freshly picked.
AVAILABILITY: Rather uncommon; most likely to be found during summer.
GENERAL COMMENTS: Mitsuba is more commonly found in Japanese markets and Japanese cuisine; thus it is also sometimes known as Japanese parsley. Mitsuba is found more commonly in Japanese markets and cuisine than Chinese.
