This is the “do-almost-everything” blade. If you are not slicing or grating, then you are probably using the Steel Blade. See the Smart Chart for techniques for processing specific foods. Always follow the guidelines in your manual.

Use the Steel Blade to chop foods, using quick on/off pulses. You can also mince, grind, purée, emulsify, mix, blend, knead and whip by letting the machine run until the desired results are achieved. You can control the exact consistency you want, from coarse to fine, even to a purée.
