Nonperishable food orders are usually based on catalogues with preset price lists and weekly or monthly specials, rather than on daily market quotations. This is because nonperishable food tends to have a long shelf life, resulting in less frequent price fluctuations. It can, therefore, be ordered in bulk, and less frequently. Nonperishable food may be ordered biweekly, weekly, or even monthly.
