For the few recipes that require a utensil for eating—including Mini Shepherd’s Pies, Butterscotch Panna Cotta, Coconut-Star Anise Rice Pudding—opt for smaller hors d’oeuvres/cocktail forks and small spoons, if possible. Or at least use the smallest flatware you have.
