Shucking Corn

Whether it is to be served on the cob or as kernels, an ear of corn must be shucked before cooking. Remove the husk and the silky threads known as the tassel or corn silk.
Pull the papery husk down the ear to the base. Snap or trim off the husk and stem. Strip away the corn silk.
