Preparing Winter Squash

Before peeling and seeding, cut large squash (here pumpkin is shown) into manageable pieces.
  1. First cut the squash in half and scoop out the seeds with a large spoon. Discard the seeds and the bitter fibers surrounding them.

  2. Cut the squash into smaller sections and, with a sharp knife, cut the flesh away from the skin.
