Hollowing Out a Halved Pineapple

A small half pineapple shell makes a container for one serving.
  1. Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise, leaving the plume. Cut a thin slice from the bottom of each half so it sits flat for serving.

  2. With a small sharp knife, cut the core from the center of the halved pineapple.

  3. With a serrated grapefruit knife, cut out the flesh. Cut into strips, then chunks, and replace for serving.
