Turnips & Swede (Rutabaga)

These roots are members of the brassica family – the same tree that includes cabbage and broccoli – and their flavour contains the characteristic hot, sulphuric bite. Both can be stored for months if kept properly like other roots, in a cool, dark place. The pleasant pepperiness of these roots is an ideal match for butter, cheese and black pepper.
