Bananas & pineapples

Imported all year round. Buy ripe bananas for use in the puddings in this book and use up any over-ripe bananas in the Banana and demerara cake. You can tell if a pineapple is ripe by pulling one of its leaves; if it comes away easily, it is ripe.
