Several brands of hot oil are on market shelves, but I have found many of them are based on inferior oils. Once again, I prefer that you make an ingredient yourself, this time a hot oil with a peanut oil base. As you will discover, it is not difficult, and there is a bonus: A byproduct of your effort will be a deposit of oil-soaked red pepper flakes for using in other recipes.
