In 2009, a young chef who had massive drive and vision joined us at Rust en Vrede. He had such clarity about what he wanted to create. It was extraordinary. He and I worked on the pass every night. We were a team that was difficult to beat.
Michael left Rust en Vrede to travel on superyachts, but when we opened Marble, he returned to join me and the team. He brought with him all the enthusiasm, skill and drive that he had had eight years before. I am so grateful to have him by my side. He will always be the guy that I lean on when a job needs to get done.
