Sweet Potato

This tuber is popular in the US where it is served as sweet potato pie or mashed sweet potato, amidst others. The orange-fleshed sweet potato is more commonly found there. Sweet potato traveled from the Americas to Asia by way of explorers. In Asia, sweet potato is frequently used in desserts. I recall purple-fleshed sweet potato being used for bubor cha cha.
