  • About

The story of Anchored Shrimp Co. is a tale of perseverance and dedication to a way of life passed down through three generations of Georgia shrimpers. Aaron Wallace’s paternal grandfather, Alfred, was a shipbuilder, and his boats still ply the waters of the Georgia coast. Aaron’s father, John, built his first shrimping boat at age twenty, and today that vessel, the Gale Force (named after Aaron’s mother), is in operation alongside a fleet of independent Georgia shrimpers.

In 2013, the Wallace family purchased Poteet Seafood Company, a business that had supported the Georgia shrimping industry for nearly four decades. Aaron has since rebranded the company as Anchored Shrimp Co., expanded its processing capacity, and opened a seafood market. Anchored Shrimp Co. is now the state’s largest certified wild Georgia shrimp seller. Despite this achievement, less than 10 percent of Georgia restaurants selling seafood source wild Georgia shrimp.
