  • About
Brison wines have been a rarity in my Savoie life, since I have tasted only one white in all the years I have been here; the vineyard is very small, but still has an AOC; it is often associated in older books with another small vineyard, which has now succumbed to new construction and which was called Charpignat. But in wine circles Brison is still important enough to be mentioned.
Monterminod is almost at the entrance of the city of Chambéry; its vines surround a castle, which stands very proud upon a hill, at the exact position where the Burgundians had built one of their fortresses. Here both Roussette and Gamay grapes are turned into delicious wines that have an AOC. The Mondeuse there has been exceptionally good.
