  • About
‘Luscious lumps of sweetness that yield themselves into a liquid satisfaction in the warmth of the mouth.’ Made by sweetie-wives practically all over the country. A speciality of ‘Ball Allan’, the Candy King of Glasgow, in the latter half of the nineteenth century. There was a choice of clove, cinnamon, peppermint, ginger and many other flavours. Eager customers included city magnates as well as schoolboys. Boxes and tins were dispatched to all quarters of the globe where Glesca folk had settled.
