  • About

Cabbage (var. capitata), Broccoli (var. italica), and Cauliflower (var. botrytis) are cultivars of Brassica oleracea, which in its uncultivated form is Wild Mustard, native to Western Europe. Other cultivars of this species include Kale, Brussels Sprouts, Gai Lan, and Kohlrabi. This crop species is incredibly important to many cultures and countries around the world. The crunch you get from a homegrown cabbage is simply unparalleled. I typically grow rare or unique varieties that are not available at the farmers’ market or grocery store.
