Pomegranate, how to Seed

To seed a pomegranate easily, follow the steps shown at left. After slicing off the crown with a sharp knife, make a superficial spiral cut in the skin around the pomegranate(1). Press both thumbs into the open crown (2) and pull the fruit apart (3). Hold each half seed side down over a bowl and tap the skin with a heavy spatula (4) to dislodge the seeds from the membrane that holds them (5).
