  • About
A dry-style white wine with a good fruit acid balance, this is a grape variety originating near Lyon in the Rhone Valley in France. There are limited plantings and production in Australia to date, but the best examples come from the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley in South Australia, with a small amount being produced in Victoria and the Canberra region. Viognier has the potential to become very popular because of its flexible nature. Its recent increased presence on the market is the winemakers’ response to demand for a wine that works in perfect harmony with the assertive flavours we seek in the food we cook and eat today.
