Antão Vaz, white grape increasingly favoured by winemakers in the alentejo, southern Portugal, where it is now producing sound, full-bodied varietal wines and is used for blending with tarter varieties such as arinto. Total 2010 plantings were 1,209 ha/2,987 acres.
