Arlanza, dop created in spain in 2008 for land between rioja and ribera del duero along the Arlanza River, with 450 ha/1,080 acres under vine. Closer in climate to Rioja, it is the source of fresh, fragrant wines from old, often mixed vineyards (see field blend) by producers Olivier Rivière and Sabiñares y Viñas.
