Portuguese name for the Jura red wine grape trousseau. As Bastardo it is a minor variety in the Douro Valley, Dão, and Beiras with total plantings of 1,218 ha/3,101 acres in 2010. Over the Spanish border in Galicia it is known as Merenzao.
