Boca, rare but historically important red wine doc in the Novara Hills in the north of piemonte, comprising 12 ha/30 acres divided among six producers. Nebbiolo grapes, called spanna here, should comprise 70 to 90% of these intriguing reds. Although marginal in size, Boca produces such good wines, notably Le Piane’s, that they are attracting international attention.
